In brief from Europe: panel on a canal, Tennet grid saturation

The government of the Spanish region of Navarra approves a 160 MW solar project

which would be installed on the Navarre canal, one of the most important canals in Spain. This project would help to reduce water evaporation by 30%.

This project could be duplicated on all the canals in Spain

Tennet, the Dutch transmission system operator, publishes an online map showing available grid capacity.

It shows solar and wind developers the possible location of power plants to be built, as well as the available capacity in the group's high-voltage stations.

Editor's note: Holland is focusing on photovoltaics. The speed of the installations has caught the grid unawares and it has to adapt urgently. This indicates a certain unpreparedness.
