Manufacturers and the Taiwanese market

In 2022, the Taiwanese URE and TSEC remain the two main panel manufacturers on the island, with a 70% market share. They have an equivalent weight. No. 3 is AUO, followed by Motech, and Gintung.

URE, which has production capacity in Taiwan, Southeast Asia and an overseas OEM business, has seen a significant increase in its shipment volume over the past year. TSEC shipped more panels to Taiwan last year. After developing production lines for M10 (182mm) panels, TSEC became Taiwan's largest M10 supplier in the fourth quarter.

Installations in Taiwan reached 2 GW last year (+7% over 2021). End-users imported more than 600-700 MW of panels from Vietnam, which is the largest exporting country to Taiwan. It supplies 30% of the market.

Editor's note: The Chinese succeeded in breaking Taiwan's industrial tool a few years ago. Now, sales are mainly made on the island. Local companies have not managed to recover their international standing.
