China's LONGi has set a record of 20.7% for the front face of a 60 cell, two-sided shingled P-type monosilicon panel.

For the company, the monocrystalline PERC panels

will replace consumer products within three years, improving the efficiency and reliability of PV system production, which in turn will reduce the average cost of electricity.

Shingle panels are still a niche product, but the technology is the subject of intense research by all manufacturers.
