The German government must reduce its spending on solar energy
The German government has decided to cut solar spending to make up for a €60 billion budget deficit triggered by a German Federal Court ruling in November. The Court annulled
the Bundestag's supplementary budget (deemed unconstitutional) for 2021, which attempted to redirect €60 billion of pandemic-related funding into the climate protection portfolio, in the name of Germany's strict debt limit rules.
There will be a phasing out of the environmental bonus for electric cars and a reduction in solar subsidies. Supplements for renewable energy sources (EEG) legislation will continue to be abolished.
Naturally, the photovoltaic industry deplores these decisions.
