In 2018, the European solar thermal market was better in 2018
EU solar thermal market to grow by 8.4% in 2018 compared with 2017, after a decade of poor performance
according to the EurObserv'ER barometer.
This late recovery of the market, even if it is confirmed in 2019 and 2020, will not be sufficient for the countries of the European Union to reach the objectives they have set for 2020 (i.e. 6.45 Mtoe).
The EU's solar thermal fleet has remained virtually unchanged since 2013 and at the end of 2018 it stood at 2,314 MW, well below the 6,594 MW threshold set by the NREAP objectives.
