French company Luciole & Basilic has developed a tracker for residential photovoltaic installations. It is said to increase the energy yield of the installation by

12 %. It has developed an adjustable mounting system combined with an application that indicates the optimal angle of inclination of the solar panel to the zenith throughout the year. The user can change the tilt of the solar panel, between 15 and 80 degrees, to follow the zenith. The system increases the electrical efficiency of the solar panels by 12% over a year. In summer, the gain is minimal. During the winter months - when production is low and household electricity consumption is at its highest - this adjustable device allows gains of 30-50% over a fixed installation, according to the inventors.

The system can be used with any solar panel up to 1.20 metres wide. Production of the first prototypes has already begun.

Editor's note: The idea is good but impractical: Will we have to adjust the orientation of the panels every week or two?
