Reducing the size of solar thermal systems with heat pumps

North American scientists have developed a new methodology for reducing the surface area required to install solar thermal systems (STS). They have linked them

heat pumps. The proposed solution could not only significantly reduce the footprint of solar thermal systems, but also offer a lower discounted cost of energy than fossil fuels.
