The German-Chinese company Nice Solar Energy has set a new world efficiency record of 17.6% for a CIGS panel with a surface area of 0.72 m² (120 x 60 cm). This joint venture

was created in 2017 by Germany's Manz and China's China Energy Investment Corporation and Shanghai Electric Group.
