PV parks promote bird diversity
Solar farms can play a positive role in promoting bird diversity in Central Europe's agricultural landscape, as they provide food for birds.
and nesting sites, say European researchers.
They examined each plot and recorded all the birds that could be seen or heard. The birds were then classified according to species, population trends, nesting sites, diet and feeding strata. A total of 353 birds of 41 species were found in the solar farms. In the control plots, 271 birds of 40 species were counted. Among the reasons put forward by the research group is the availability of food for insectivorous birds, as the photovoltaic panels attract various species of aquatic insects in search of water. Solar farms can be used as stopover, feeding and resting sites during migration and wintering, just like the ground beneath them.

Editor's note: If solar power plants can be a factor in the regeneration of flora and fauna, these installations will be much appreciated.
