Lhyfe builds a 10 MW hydrogen production plant in Germany

Lhyfe is launching the construction of a green hydrogen production site in the port city of Brake, in Lower Saxony (Germany). The plant will be the first in the northern German region to use green hydrogen to produce electricity.

available to a wide range of regional players, via containerised distribution. The plant will produce 1,150 tonnes of green hydrogen a year (with an electrolysis capacity of 10 MW) using energy from local wind and solar power stations. This hydrogen will power various industrial and mobility applications throughout the region.

In October, Lhyfe announced the start of construction of Baden-Württemberg's largest hydrogen production plant, in Schwäbisch Gmünd, with a capacity of 10 MW.

Lhyfe produces green hydrogen by electrolysis of water, in production facilities powered by renewable energies. The company's first site has already been operational since the second half of 2021, while two other sites in France were inaugurated in December 2023. Several other sites are currently under construction across Europe.
