In IndiaThe study of hybrid wind-to-solar-solar-storage projects in the state of Tamil Nadu showed that RE electricity is cheaper than new coal-fired power plants. The renewable solution costs 4.97 INR/kWh ($0.068/kWh) in 2021, and would fall to 3.4 INR/kWh in 2030. The coal solution costs between 4.50 and 6 INR/kWh.
Storage helps to reduce the effect of intermittent RE.
