In brief worldwide: net metering in Poland, 800 MW in the USA, Tesla in 2022, NEXTracker in India
- A year ago, net metering was changed in Poland for micro-installations up to 50 kW. The new version resulted in better sizing of rooftop PV systems and higher self-consumption rates to use excess energy, such as heat pumps and battery energy storage systems.
- An 800 MW solar power plant is to be built in Illinois (USA) by autumn 2024. It would be the largest plant in the country. More importantly, it would be the first to use only US-made panels, equipment and electrical components.
- Tesla's solar rooftop deployment has fallen short of its installation goals. 1,000 per week were planned. By 2022, 21 rooftops were equipped each week
- NEXTracker signed a contract to supply 1.2 GW of trackers with Sterling and Wilson of India
